Blog 4: Books

Hello!

I wanted to talk today about books.

When I was little I save money to buy books. Classical, dystopia, trilogy, the books that then become a movie. I read a lot of romance histories, of the future and war. Not everything was just youth literature, but I have to admit I read it a lot.

This was when I have like fifteen years old, then I grow up and I started to refuse this kind of books because they were entertaining, but only that. I started looking at other genres, and the poetry and the science fiction (the old, like Verne or Bradbury) satisfied my need for reading.

Now that I'm here in the university, I can tell that having the habit of reading, made me the things easier. Even I lost a bit of practice because of the last two years I didn't have plenty of time, but I'm grateful that I never let my stop reading.

Blog 3: My favorite piece of technology

Hi!

My favorite piece of technology is my camera. It was my gift for my birthday when I get the age of sixteen. It’s a pink semiprofessional camera, and at first I didn't like it because I was having trouble with the pink, but it takes very good pictures. Now that I'm older I'm not ashamed to say that I think it's cute.

Before joining the university, I had a little time free (but even in that moment I haven't had too much time with the school and the pre-university) and I spend it taking pictures of nature and my family. Sometimes I was going to protests and my favorite pictures are from those moments.

My life without it would be different, because it is my favorite way of taking moments and make it last, and it’s a way of artistic expression that I like so much, you can show to the world what are you watching.

Blog 2: Why did I choose this career?

My dream, when I was a child, was to be a painter. I wanted to become an artist, but then my view of the world changed, I wanted to not only see the people, I wanted to understand and sometimes, change that world. That's why I'm studying Social work now, to see from another point of view and do something about it.

Other careers that I have as an option were Law (now I know that I make a good choice for not be stubborn, I can say that I wouldn't be happy there) and Sociology, but I'm satisfied with what I choose. I didn't know what was exactly Social work, but I made a bet and win because is what I wanted to do.

The experience of being in the university is something great, is better than I was expected. The people are so nice and the lessons are so interesting.

The kind of work I would like to do is something where I can do the things that I feel are right, not to be someone at the order of the interests of someone else that doesn't care about the other people.

Blog 9: Changes to my study programme
